Michael Faraday the Lost Cage

That’s right; I slipped back in time to 1862 and found this small cabin along The River Thames “Faraday’s Cabin”.

Michael Faraday studied magnetic field around a conductor carrying a DC electric current, and established the basis for the electromagnetic field concept in physics. He discovered electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism, and laws of electrolysis. He established that magnetism could affect rays of light and that there was an underlying relationship between the two. His inventions of formed the foundation of electric motor technology, and it was largely due to his efforts that electricity became viable for use in technology. Born in Newington Butts, Surrey, England on the 22 September 1791 and died in Hampton Court, Surrey, England on 25 August 1867)

Faraday cages are named after this English scientist.

Skip Dump West Ham "Somewhere"

My buddy Nick and I are walking a new photography route, trying to find the Three Mills. I am assuring him that I know where the hell I am going; however, it had been over four yeas since I had walked there and too be honest, I was lost – well and truly; which I suppose that made him lost. Discovery can be quite fun, and getting past that being lost state is where inspiration comes – this time the inspiration was a skip dump. Hey! You were not there, and didn’t see the other options…

It’s funny; one of my most favourite hobbies is walking along The River Thames, taking pictures ever so often. I have never seen this London Underground ventilation building before, personally I think it is architecturally stunning. Hope you like the shot.

I was walking along the Virgin London Marathon 2010 track, when I saw this chap running in a full suit of armour.

“I have done some tough challenges in the past, but this one tops them all.” said Carl Day (the man in the armour).

His armour’s total weight was 6.5 stones. The sponsorship and advertising money he raises will be donated to the British Heart Foundation. http://original.justgiving.com/carlday1
